The Raiders have started cutting players and its fun to watch the Raiders scramble to get under the $94M salary cap. But it's also making the team a little better as it jettisons dead weight such as Kerry Collins.
Collins was 7-21 as a starter for the Raiders and there was hope that new coach Art Shell was going to keep him aboard. But no such luck now as the two have parted ways. Still, there is no cause for alarm because this is the Raiders and odds are they will find an incompetent replacement. I mean, look at whom they hired as head coach.
The Raiders won't only be the only team to be making some drastic cuts to get under the salary cap. And as your favorite players are let go because the players and owners couldnt get together on an accord just remember this is what you get when you put a Raider (Gene Upshaw) in charge.
UPDATE: The Raiders have not officially cut Collins yet because the deadline has been pushed back to Thursday. So there is hope!
