After resisting for a long time, I signed up for a Twitter account in January so I could more easily follow the feeds of friends like Dan Fienberg and Rick Porter. I Tweeted on occasion, but so rarely that I would feel embarrassed when I got an e-mail telling me I had a new follower.

Being stuck indoors the last couple of days has prompted me to give it more of a try. I'm never going to be as comfortable with the format as I am writing at greater length, but so far it's proving to be useful for things like explaining why I'm not watching "Eastbound & Down" anymore, or briefly mentioning the Rob Thomas sitcom "Party Down," which I watched this weekend in advance of its premiere later this month.
