Vince Young was one of the most exciting players in the NFL last season, no doubt. But there have long been questions about his, um, mental acumen. Young allegedly scored a six on his Wonderlic test, putting him in the same percentile as your average French fry. Imagine how hard it is to be considered the dumb one when Pacman Jones is on your team?
Young did nothing to change that perception at practice on Wednesday afternoon.
Young got into a fight with a teammate at practice and threw a punch�with his throwing hand. Admirable that he was protecting a teammate, but just stupid. Actually, that�s not just stupid, that�s Gus Frerotte stupid. Vince should get himself a copy of Bull Durham immediately. In addition to learning a few clich�s, he will know better than to throw a punch with his throwing hand.
That�s what Tim Rattay is for.
Some also might point out that Vince Young is the cover boy of Madden 08. But with decision making like that, the Madden cover jinx is the least of his worries.
