Matte VS. Shimmer
Many of my clients ask first off what is the difference between the 2 most common types of eye shadow matte and shimmer? Also, just when should they were the matte or the shimmer or both?
The answer to these questions and more when it comes to the subject of eye shadow are simple. The difference between a matte and shimmer is glitter or an added element to the eyeshadow that creates a glittery/frost look. Mattes are flat and just the color nothing added to create the appearance of shininess or a frosting effect. Below are two examples Mary Kay mineral eye color, the two are similar in colors , however, one is a matte and the other you guessed it is a shimmer. See if you can tell the difference.
I have several different types of application that I like to do on myself and clients as well. But let me just say there is no right or wrong way it is a matter of personal preference.
