Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine have advanced to college baseball's Super Regionals. The Angels treated their fans to Hooters wings after walloping the Twins on Monday night while comfortably remaining in first place. And how about the Anaheim Ducks? The hockey club moved to within one game of winning the Stanley Cup while most Kings fans just threw up in their mouth a little bit.Looking back, you have to give Disney high marks for its sports ownership. The Angels won its first World Series under Disney�s tutelage while the Ducks have become perennial winner during Disney's tenure. The company had many, many bad ideas from baseball cheerleaders, periwinkle, RBI and that other stupid bear mascot, and hell, just the name Mighty Ducks was incredibly lame. In the end, however, Orange County fans have to give Disney a thumb's up for building two winning franchises. As hard as it may seem, you really have to give the Mouse credit for bringing some sports pride to Orange County after the Rams franchise folded.
Is that enough to make up for unleashing the Sports Dork on the world? Maybe, but let's not spoil the moment.
